Crowdfunding Corner… 3 August 2017

Crowdfunding Corner is back baby! And today we’re checking out three upcoming games.

Developer: Victory Point Games

Player/s: 1-5

Funded: 501%

Campaign Ends: 18 August 2017 AEST

Style: Cyberpunk Cooperative Deckbuilding

My favorite genre of all time is Cyberpunk. I made no attempt to hide the fact Android: Netrunner is my number one game (as of August 2017) and a lot of it has to do with how well it hits the right notes with the theme. Renegade has deckbuilding, which I love; it’s cooperative, which I love even more; AND it’s Cyberpunk. Needless to say I’ve already backed this one.

Master of the Galaxy

Developer: Ares Games

Player/s: 2-4

Funded: 157%

Campaign Ends: 12 August 2017 AEST

Style: Science Fiction 4X

Honestly, the only reason I haven’t reviewed Twilight Imperium 3rd edition at this point is simply due to how damn long it takes to play. I’m not comfortable writing an article about something I’ve only played three times because every time you want to play it you have to put a whole weekend aside. I’ll say this, I think the game is a ton of fun.

So when I saw Master of the Galaxy was a 4x game which fit in around about two hours. I was sold. Sign me up. And then you add card drafting? I’m super keen to see how this all fits in together. My concern is always games biting off more than they can chew. But preliminary reviews seem positive. And I really like the look of what the campaign is showing.

Dawn of the Archmage

Developer: Dave Killingsworth

Player/s: 2-4

Funded: 30%

Campaign Ends: 31 August 2017

Style: Fantasy Arena Miniatures Skirmish

I’m a bit of a sucker for cool artwork and nice looking miniatures. The artwork of Dawn of the Archmage really grabbed me. And I’m always down for more miniature skirmish games.

If you enjoyed this then share the joy on social media so others can enjoy it too. And check out our other articles. They’re always good for a laugh.
